Moving During Lock Down

With a pandemic threatening the world this has recently been a hot topic that has now sort have been changed but still leaves a lot hanging in the air, such as tenants being evicted and moving dates.

We discuss where we are now and the plight of moving during lock down. 

A few things come to mind.

• When you can move

• How you can move 

For a while there everyone was stuck in their homes unable to move to the new homes they has arranged or even move out of the old place. While many could not move they also had a financial change in status as businesses closed and people lost their Jobs. Clearly at this point Landlords thought they could still evict those clients who refused to pay...

BUT

To their surprise NOT. Tenants who could not pay during lock down could simply stay until the end and at this point until the end of Level 3. Evictions are illegal and those who are unfortunate get to keep a roof over their heads for now.

STILL

There are those that need to move and looking forward to that move and the crazy rules were causing a backlog. With loads of discussion they changed the rules at level 4 and gave everyone an opportunity to move once until 7 June 2020 but only if a lease was signed before lock down or a Deed was registered before lock down.

This in itself is not going to work as some deeds were still being registered and most moving only takes place once a deed is actually registered.

On a rethink, they decided to go with lets open it up to everyone being allowed to move once with no restriction on the lease or deed.

WELL.... That helped

Now all you need is a removal truck or company.

OH

And a permission slip from the teacher errrr I mean Law enforcement.

OK

So with us all moving into level 3 now this should all fall away and you can just move, but think of how silly that was. People and families moving from home to home is a daily process, something you just cannot stop, it is just unthinkable how many peoples lives are interfered with let alone the severe stress causing them to get sick, especially as they are not even allowed to smoke.

WELL

Everyone can move now and at least we are starting to find a little normality...........

BUT WILL IT LAST??

Lets hope so.
